Time to meet adoptable Juju. Juju was found as a stray in North Carolina and came to the county shelter. He sat there for 100 days without any interest from adopters or rescue group until Underhound Railroad agreed to pull him. Juju is a 10 year old pittie mix. He appeared old, lethargic, and downright pitiful in the shelter. He was used to temperament test other dogs because he got along with everybody. A staff and volunteer favorite, he would occasionally show his stubborn side by putting on the breaks and refusing to walk back inside to his kennel. But who could blame him? No dog should be at the shelter for over 100 days especially an old fart like him. His foster mom brought Juju home expecting a sweet old man that just wanted to lay on the couch but boy was she wrong. Juju hit the ground running, ready to catch up on everything he missed while at the shelter. Cooking? He'll offer help by tripping you up in the kitchen. Cleaning? He'll shake off some hair while you're vacuuming. Walking? He'll drag you towards all the stinky smells so you can explore places you haven't seen. Showering? He'll watch. Awkwardly. Getting his dinner ready? He'll bark at you to do it faster. Chilling on the couch? He'll sit on top of you. Sleeping in bed? He prefers to be the big spoon. Juju has let us know he doesn't appreciate other animals in his space since being in a home environment, so he would likely do best as an only pet. Older, relaxed housemates may be okay. What this old man lacks in teeth, he makes up for in personality. He will tell you exactly what he wants and when he wants it. But he'll also lay on top of you and look longingly into your eyes for hours at a time. This makes schoolwork a bit more interesting. Juju has some old man lumps and bumps but is overall pretty healthy. His back legs are a little wobbly at times but with his pain meds he's still able to enjoy his walks and play time.
