Meet Judy Your Next Adventure Buddy!
With her warm, soulful eyes and gentle demeanor, Judy is a loving companion who brings joy wherever she goes. Her athletic build and zest for life make her the perfect mix of cuddle buddy and energetic adventurer.
About Judy
Personality:
Judy is remarkably sweet, patient, and adaptable. She thrives on human connection, quickly forming bonds with those around her. While she loves people and enjoys social events, she needs to be the only dog in the home to feel her happiest.
Daily Life & Activities:
Judy's day is filled with fun and adventure. She enjoys running, playing, and exploring, and shes equally delighted to settle down with her beloved benebone chew toy for quiet time. After an active day, shes ready to snuggle up on the couch for some quality relaxation.
Training & Skills:
Judy is a smart pup who knows several commands, including sit, four on the floor, and wait. Shes fully crate trained and housebroken. Though she's still working on her leash manners, her food motivation makes her an eager and quick learner. Shes calm around city noises like trains and mail deliveries and never barks at neighborhood commotion.
Family Life
Judy has lived happily with a rambunctious 5-year-old child and would do well in a home with kids, as long as she has plenty of opportunities to release her energy. Her strength and agility make her an ideal running or outdoor adventure partner.
However, Judy is not a lover of other dogs and likes to maintain her space from them to feel secure and happy. Her ideal home is one where shes the only dog and can enjoy her familys undivided attention.
Experience Level Needed
Judy would thrive with an active family or individual who can provide regular exercise, continued training, and lots of love. Her leash reactivity toward other dogs will require a family committed to working on her training with patience and consistency.
Fun Fact:
Judy had a blast playing in the snow recently! Afterward, she happily came inside to enjoy a play session with her favorite toys, showing just how much she loves both outdoor adventures and cozy indoor time.

Operation Paws for Homes, Inc. (OPH) rescues dogs and cats of all breeds and ages from high-kill shelters in NC, VA, MD, and SC, reducing the numbers being euthanized. With limited resources, the shelters are forced to put down 50-90% of the animals that come in the front door. OPH provides pet adoption services to families located in VA, DC, MD, PA and neighboring states. OPH is a 501(c)(3) organization and is 100% donor funded. OPH does not operate a shelter or have a physical location. We rely on foster families who open their homes to give love and attention to each pet before finding a forever home. All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
