Meet Joy
Joy is a beautiful 5 ½-month-old black Lab mix with soulful eyes that will melt your heart. While she may be a little shy at first, Joy is incredibly sweet and loving once she warms up. She adores playtime, and when she’s all tuckered out, she happily retreats to her kennel for a cozy rest.
This curious pup is still mastering potty training but is making good progress. Like any typical puppy, she’s full of curiosity—she loves to explore, sometimes even the kitchen counters! With a little guidance and training, Joy is sure to learn the ropes quickly, as she’s already proving to be smart, well-behaved, and eager to please. She also walks beautifully on a leash.
Joy is a true cuddle bug who loves being close to her humans, whether it’s snuggling on the couch or being held. She sleeps soundly in her kennel all night long and enjoys being tucked in with a blanket, especially on chilly nights.
Her love for treats makes her highly trainable, and her resilience is nothing short of inspiring. After bravely battling and recovering from parvo, Joy is ready to live her best life—and she absolutely deserves to be spoiled with love and care forever.
If you’re ready to give Joy the life she’s fought so hard for, she’ll repay you with endless love, loyalty, and snuggles. Could Joy be the missing piece to your family?
Please note: as with most rescue puppies, we have no way to guarantee this puppy’s breed or size potential.

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to please visit our website to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt
**Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).
The adoption fee for puppies covers initial deworming, puppy vaccinations, microchip, and spay/neuter at the rescue's approved vet at 6 months of age. Please see our website for more information.
2022 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals:
Puppies under 12 months - $350
Dogs over 12 months - $250
For additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets, see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq
*Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our puppies live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match!
**Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as Pet Finder, and are no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed.
