Joy is a tiny girl weighing about 4 lbs. She is believed to be between 5-6 years old. She was a breeder dog in a puppy mill all her life. She received little to no vetting or love.

Joy is a sweet lady that has taken to home life like the true princess she is! She likes to be held and snuggle on laps. If she can't be with you she is content sleeping in a dog bed. Joy does not like being alone for extended period of time (more than a few hours). She gets very anxious and has potty accidents. She will need someone who can be with her often and not left for extended periods.

Joy is beginning to play with toys and likes hard chews (hooves and antlers). She is good with all dogs and has even done well in a foster home with birds and a tortoise! Joy would do best in a home without small children under the age of 5.

Joy will need a canine companion in her next home to continue to learn from and a secure physical fence to keep her safe. Puppy mill dogs are a high flight risk. They do not know how to walk on a leash and will fight to get out of a collar or harness. These are requirements and not suggestions. If you do not have these two things, then Joy is not the dog for you.

Joy's adoption fee is $275. She is spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped and on flea and heart worm prevention. Visit our website for our application leiashope.org.
