Meet Jovie

Meet Jovie! This adorable ray of sunshine is a two-year-old, 53-pound pittie mix with a heart of gold. Jovie is the happiest girl and her positive energy is contagious. She is very affectionate, playful, and loving. She would happily spend all of her time with her people and can’t seem to get or give enough love or snuggles - she’ll gladly spend hours curled up next to you on the couch with her head in your lap. Jovie loves to fetch, play with her toys (especially the rope ones!), and go for walks or, better yet, runs with her foster mom to take in the sights and sniffs. She has made great progress on her leash manners in her foster home and, with continued positive reinforcement, will be a pro in no time!
Jovie is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic commands, including sit, wait, and fetch. She is an easygoing and very tolerant gal who loves kids, but sometimes, in her excitement, she forgets to leave “four on the floor” so she would do well with older children who are sturdy on their feet. Jovie likes cats a little bit too much and will need a cat-free home. She loves other dogs, but can get too excited and playful for some, so she would do well as the only pet in the home or with another well-matched confident dog who wants to play as much as she does! Jovie is truly as sweet as they come but, despite loving and bouncy demeanor, she hasn’t had an easy road. When she arrived at the shelter, she was underweight and was so badly infested with fleas that she had lost large patches of fur. As a result, she can be a bit nervous from time to time when meeting a new person, but she warms up very quickly - and when she does, you’ll have a best friend for life! Her gratitude for a loving home is so clear in her endless love, kisses and hugs. Jovie is looking for her forever family that will show her the good life that’s meant for an amazing girl like her. If you have a special space for those big bunny ears and gorgeous green eyes in your heart and your home, apply to make Jovie a part of your family today! Her adoption fee is $250

To adopt this pet, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the dog you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where dogs can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a dog in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!
