is a playful girl who had a rough start in life. She came into rescue as a one-year-old with almost no human interaction, so she will need a home that understands that she may never become a "normal" family dog. Since coming into rescue,
Josie
has made very few social gains. She is currently on a medication to help calm her nerves but it has only helped so much. She has learned to go potty outside or on a potty pad, but she is not 100% yet. She loves other dogs and is constantly play bowing at her foster siblings in attempts to get them to play with her. She also loves toys and tries to take as many toys as she can outside to play with in the yard when the weather is nice.

will take treats out of human hands but she does not let you pet her or hold her willingly. Her foster mom makes sure to provide her with treats and praise when she does pet or hold her, but

shakes and is very uncomfortable while interacting physically with humans.
Josie
is not a dog who you will take on walks, car rides, or to the dog park. As of now, she is a major flight risk, meaning if she sees a way to escape, she will, and you will not catch her.

is also a frequent fear-barker, especially when she is outside, so her ideal home would be someone without close neighbors or someone who lives outside of city limits. She has been in two different foster homes for quite some time and has plateaued on progress so that is why we are reaching out to our potential adopters with puppy mill experience.
Josie
's foster homes have tried every piece of advice given from professional trainers with very little gains. We are hopeful that more progress can be made since she is still young, but realistically, she will never be a social, cuddly pup.
