Joshi Pit Bull Terrier Mix Wantagh, NY

Joshi has a really sad story. He was picked up after his family had an personal altercation, upon arriving to the scene, neighbors described Joshi's owners as abusive and the dog was constantly being shuffled around from house to house. At only 1.5 yrs old, this pup needs to start his new chapter, "What it means to be in a Loving home", and we want want YOU to be the one to write that story for him! We aren't sure if Joshi lived indoors, outdoors or just in a basement, as one neighbor mentioned. However, his next home should be supportive and understands he will need time to decompress, and learn what trust is. Our 55 pound pup needs to continue to learn impulse control (he gets super excited to go outside) but has no idea what being on a leash is, so he walks in a zig-zag pattern (we are working with him). He allows to be pet, slowly, and when you stop, he has started to lean in for more. Our sweet boy LOVES toys!! LOVES! LOVES! he doesn't always likes to give it up, however for a tasty treat he will trade. When Joshi was picked up, we were told he lived with a female dog, when meeting dogs at the shelter he appeared to enjoy a female dog to play with. Joshi deserves to know what a real family is, romps in a fenced yard where he can bond and be himself. We know he is going to blossom in the correct home and we can't wait to watch him!
