JOSEPHINA is a sweet, shy, and oh so beautiful 4 - 5 month old Shepherd<br/>- Collie Mix female puppy. She looks like a total fluffball with her<br/>nice long fur and she has very expressive, soulful brown eyes.<br/>JOSEPHINA was dumped at the pound by uncaring owners who thought she was<br/>cute when she was a tiny puppy, but as she grew, they grew tired of the<br/>responsibilities of dog ownership. While it is very hard for the<br/>general public to accept that JOSEPHINA, and many other sweet dogs just<br/>like her are routinely euthanized at the shelter, it is true. Almost<br/>all animals turned in by owners are immediately put to sleep, and<br/>JOSEPHINA was literally walking the "green mile" to her death when<br/>intercepted by an Animal Alliance volunteer on site at the shelter that<br/>day. JOSEPHINA, who must have sensed her gruesome fate just a few paces<br/>ahead of her chance encounter with our volunteer, literally leapt off<br/>the ground into the safety of the volunteer's arms. JOSEPHINA is now<br/>safely ensconced in a foster home, where she is loving life. She enjoys<br/>the company of other young dogs, and is very submissive to the bigger,<br/>bossier, older dogs. Before long, she will be spayed (by this weekend),<br/>and will be ready to go to her new home. JOSEPHINA is up to date on all<br/>shots, dewormed, vet checked as healthy, and current on monthly<br/>flea/tick/heartworm preventatives.
