Meet Joseph in OH - Active, Gentle & Sweet!

Joseph is a beautiful, gentle Pyr looking for a foster or a forever home! He is housebroken and perfecting his leash training. He’s a medium-to-high energy boy, on the small side for a male Pyrenees, who gets along well with dogs in his boarding location. He hasn’t been exposed to children while in boarding but he should be gentle with older kids based on his energy level. Joseph has been handled by many different people while in boarding and gets along with everyone he meets. This smart guy already knows “sit,” is treat-motivated, and would love to learn some tricks from his new family! He likes to have room to stretch out and sleep, especially on his elevated Kuranda bed, and is gentle for brushing and petting. He would prefer not to be tethered or confined to small spaces. He’s an active, sweet boy who is just happy to be with people. He loves to have a good romp and play and then settle down for a long nap. He would do best as an only dog or with a female dog. Male dogs would be okay with a proper introduction.

Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted.

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.

Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
