Meet Jordy

We are not confident on his breed, suspicion may be some pit bull, wein or hound dog. He weighs about 50 pounds. He is good with cats and other dogs. He can be kind of dominant though with other dogs. We have a female dog in the house too and he can nip at her at times, mostly when she comes outside. When we have boarded him, he often can be a little aggressive towards dogs when he first gets there but then calms down after a while. We have a 11 year and 13 year old in the house and he is great with them. When their friends come over he does bark a lot and if he's not entirely comfortable he can nip at them. His bark is often very intimidating to the kids. He is not crate trained, he is house trained. He is up to date on all vaccinations and he is neutered.

I feel like the best home for him would be one that has a large backyard or even a lot of land for him to run around. He goes crazy with squirrels and wants to be outside and chase them as much as possible. He is more on the hyper and anxious side of things. He can whimper and whine a lot when he wants something. Also, when he wants to go outside, especially if he hears animals outside, he will go crazy whining, barking and jumping all over until he gets outside. Our yard is fenced in with a chain link fence and he keeps finding and making holes to get out. He typically does not run far away, but he does try to get out. He also is not good on a leash. He is one who wants to pull nonstop and he goes crazy when he sees other dogs. One issue I've run into when walking him and our other dog is if we meet another dog, he'll then try to nip and fight with our dog.

Jordy does have a huge heart and he is a lover. In order to try and break him of some of his hyperness and anxiety, I think he needs a home that can be very strict and strong in training. But it also needs to be a very loving home!
