Since then, he’s been putting in the work at a board-and-train program with The Dog Wizard, focusing on his reactivity and building trust again.<br/><br/>Jordan is one of those dogs who reminds us why rescue work is worth every ounce of effort. He feels life with his whole body — the joy, the uncertainty, the love — and he is trying so hard every day to learn how to navigate a world that hasn’t always made sense to him. And goodness, does he shine.<br/><br/>A Big Personality With an Even Bigger Heart<br/>Jordan is a restless, eager, endlessly expressive boy who loves nothing more than being with his people. If he could velcro himself to your side, he absolutely would. Around the house or in the yard, he bursts into full-bodied zoomies, punctuated by joyful chatter — because Jordan is a talker, and he thinks you should be included in every thought that crosses his mind.<br/><br/>He delights in plush toys, squeaky toys, and anything soft enough to carry around and show off. He also loves snuggling up close, though he’s still learning that yes — it is okay for him to curl up on the couch with his humans.<br/><br/>Energy & Daily Life<br/>Jordan has a medium energy level and thrives with routine. Two solid walks a day help ground him, with evening or low-traffic walks being his personal sweet spot. Daytime walks are hard for him right now — there’s just too much stimulation — but in quieter environments he can settle, focus, and do beautifully.<br/><br/>He can also burn off some steam in a securely fenced yard, but supervision is important, as he gets very invested in what’s going on along the fence line.<br/><br/>What Jordan needs most is social connection. He wants to be part of your day, part of your routine, and part of your heart.<br/><br/>Love First, Worry Second<br/>Jordan adores physical affection and attention. He’ll press himself against you, sit on your feet, lean into pets, and soak up every bit of reassurance you offer. Nail tools like PediPaws are intimidating for him, so future adopters should approach paw-care gently and with patience.<br/><br/>Learning People & The World<br/>Strangers still worry him, and he can bark or grumble when he feels uncertain — especially on walks. Inside the home he’s generally good with visitors, though an unexpected entry once frightened him. He tolerates children but needs a family committed to teaching both kids and Jordan what respectful interactions look like. He’s learning that he’s allowed to walk away when overwhelmed, and consistent guidance will help him continue making good choices.<br/><br/>Around Other Animals<br/>Jordan desperately wants to meet other dogs… he just doesn’t yet know how to calm his excitement and anxiety enough for safe interactions. He can pull hard, vocalize, and fixate, especially if another animal is reacting. He has met a dog once, though it was an off-leash situation that understandably made him uncomfortable.<br/><br/>He also shows mild possessiveness with toys and food around children, but not adults — another sign that he simply needs clear structure, predictable routines, and ongoing confidence-building.<br/><br/>Training & Progress<br/>Jordan is smart, sensitive, and trying so earnestly to get things right. He has been working hard on:<br/>• Reactivity & leash focus (best during calm hours)<br/>• Managing excitement<br/>• "Speak" and "Quiet" (he’s vocal, but learning!)<br/>• "Look" for redirection<br/>• Window barking — covered windows have helped dramatically<br/>• Self-regulation when jealous or overstimulated<br/><br/>He’s not strongly food-motivated, but exploring his environment is a huge reward.<br/><br/>The Dog He Will Be With the Right People<br/>Jordan is a dog who bonds deeply. He wants — and truly needs — people who won’t mind him following them from room to room, sleeping nearby, or checking in just to make sure he’s still part of the family.<br/><br/>He may have some separation anxiety tendencies, but with stability, structure, and compassion, we believe he will flourish.<br/><br/>Jordan doesn’t need perfection — he needs patience. He needs understanding. He needs humans who see not just where he is today, but where he can be with love.<br/><br/>Jordan may come with challenges, but he also comes with immeasurable devotion, charm, and potential.<br/><br/>We believe in him wholeheartedly.
