Jolie Belgian Shepherd / Malinois Duck River, TN

Report from a recent day date:
Thank you so much for letting us take Jolie on a little outing Wednesday. She is the absolute sweetest. I guarantee she will be a fantastic addition to someone's family. I wanted to share what I observed of her behavior with us in case any info would be helpful in finding her perfect home. My 11yo son, 9yo daughter and I took her to the park and a walk around downtown Columbia.

She showed absolutely no aggression even when noticeably anxious, uncomfortable or scared. Jolie took about an hour to warm up to us and she wasn't a fan of getting in or out of the car. I ended up needing to pick her up to get in and out of the car, which she allowed even though I could tell it terrified her. Once in the car, she tolerated the actual car ride pretty well. She did prefer to be sitting next to someone in the car and not alone in her own seat.

I was very impressed how gentle she is on a leash. She rarely pulled and didn't resist walking or being guided if we needed to change direction.

She seemed to be ok walking by a variety of people; men didn't seem to scare her. She perked up a bit around dogs but didn't lunge or bark. She didn't seem to notice squirrels or birds. Nor did loud noises seem to startle or bother her. The only thing that seemed to startle her were two big sticks that were propped up off the ground. That was the only time she barked.

She is a very attentive dog, but was able to calm and seemed content resting. Jolie appeared to enjoy attention and being around people. She wasn't particularly playful, but I could see her becoming playful once in a home and fully comfortable.

Once comfortable with us, she really enjoyed treats and took them very nicely. Her ears are super expressive and she really communicates her feelings through those ears.

Overall, she is an incredibly sweet, gentle dog who would be great for a family who can be patient while she comes out of her shell.
