Meet Joker

Like his buddy Robin, Joker has the silky long ears and soulful eyes of a Treeing Walker Coonhound. Joker and Robin came all the way from Alabama. Since the onset of their journey they had been looking for homes for quite some time, so STAF decided to help these floppy-eared friends find the loving families they need and deserve. Joker is about 3 years old, and a little over 50 lbs. He likes to say hello when he meets you, and unlike his pal, Robin, this boy doesn’t hug; in fact he will try to steal a little smooch- or maybe a lot of big smooches!
We are so, so thankful that both Joker and Robin made their way to STAF.

Sadly at their first vet visit we learned that not one, but both these gorgeous guys was heartworm positive. We at STAF are of the “half-full” attitude and although there are a lot of things better than heartworm, the STAF volunteers were so relieved that they could be here to help them during their heartworm treatments.

Drum-roll please…We are OVER THE MOON to share the news that both these adorable love bugs have completed their heartworm treatments and came through with flying colors! YAY!!!

Joker loves playing outside, and is always happy to meet every person as well as other dogs. Joker also loves to lay his head on your lap for a big ol’ noggin scratch. Despite his infamous name, Joker is such a good boy and he can't wait to find his forever home.

Joker needs: A home to give him plenty of walking and lots and lots of love.
Joker would love: Joker an active, playful home with a yard for him to run around.
Joker’s estimated birth date is December 2014

Please see our homepage for visiting hours and adoption details.

All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.

Visit our website www.staf.org to download our application.

We do not do same-day adoptions; we ask that you return for a follow-up visit before taking an animal home.

You must be 21 years or older to adopt a dog from STAF

We require a physical fence for homes with children under the age of 11. We also may require a physical fence for specific dogs on a case-by-case basis, depending on each dog's behavior and exercise needs.

Invisible fences - Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training--we cannot adopt to homes with invisible fences unless otherwise noted in a dog's online profile.

We do request vet and personal references.

At this time, we are only able to consider applicants within 75 miles of Cincinnati.

Can’t adopt but want to help? You can make a difference! Our shelter is run entirely on volunteer-power and generous donations from animal-lovers like you. 100% of your contribution goes directly to caring for our 500+ furry residents. Thank you for your support.
