Meet Joey LW

I am extremely well potty and crate trained. I have never had an accident since being with my Foster Family and I actually go into the crate all by myself. Not really understanding what this “cat” thing is. I get confused if I should chase them or just watch them give themselves a bath. A bath! I mean, what kind of animal actually like receiving a bath?? Cats are crazy. Now dogs, small dogs or smaller-than-me dogs are pretty awesome. I get along with them pretty well. However, if any dog starts to bark or be aggressive with me in any way, I will be just as mean right back. I will not be disrespected. I don’t go to dog barks nor have I been to a boarding dog camp. I don’t get a long that well with random, big dogs.

I do need to be groomed professionally at least once every two to three months since my hair gets so bushy (its pretty cute actually, but it gets into knots that are just not fun). When I get professionally groomed, I wear a muzzle or get “sedated.” It’s just easier for everyone.

Kids don’t scare me one bit, in fact most humans don’t. But I do bark at the mailman, I mean, what is he doing at my house anyways? I bark to protect my family, and I like to protect my family. Whoever is taking care of me, I sure do take care of them. I love to give kisses, lots of kisses, on your face. Oh! And I do this thing where I get in the mood to “play.” I really like to chase my bushy squirrel tail, chew up stuffed animals, and really soft blankets. Something about those soft blankets, I love playing with them, making sure they know who is boss.

I love to obey, especially with “sit” and “stay,” but I would love it even more if you gave me sweet, small bone when I behave. My favorites include peanut butter or sweet potato. Yummy! I enjoy having my belly rubbed, once I trust you, but I prefer to have my head rub instead. Especially around my eyes, when you push back my hair from my eyelids….oh, yeah, I loooove that.

I do have a nub of a foot on my back right leg. Vet has confirmed it doesn’t bother me one bit. In fact, I prefer it to be there because I like to chew on it from time to time when I am really bored. I walk and run on it just fine too. Ohhhhh, I forgot to tell you: I LOVE walks! I get really, really, really excited to go on a short or long walk with my master. I walk on the leash thing really well.

But my favorite thing in the whole world?? CAR RIDES. I am obsessed with car rides! My foster mom keeps me seat belted in and I am good to go! As long as I can see out the window. I don’t care if the window is up or down, all the same to me. I just want to be in the car all the time!

I do have this quirk of not letting you touch me and may even snip at you a couple of times and growl, when you try to grab me or pick me up. Once I trust you, it won’t be so bad, but I have been out on the streets, strangers are not so nice. I don’t like being grabbed on my backside whatsoever. So, don’t let me loose. I will eventually come back to you if I like you. I know my name. But I will not be grabbed or picked up without protecting myself, whatever that takes. Otherwise, if you cant seem to get me to come back to you, just open up a car door, I’ll jump right in. As I said earlier, I LOVE car rides!! I am a 5 year old 28 pound Lhaso Apso mix.
