Meet Joey! This handsome boy is what we think is a Chow/Golden Retriever mix. He is soooo soft. Joey will need a very special home with a family that has lots of patience. He came to us from animal control very sick. He got better and within a few days escaped his foster family's fence. It took us 7 months to finally capture him and has taken a few months to get him domesticated again. Joey LOVES other dogs and would do best with at least 1 other dog in the home. We will require that he go to someone with a very secure privacy fence. He is currently in a foster home with a 6 foot fence privacy fence and electric wire that stops him from digging out and we have had no issues. He does appear to be house trained and he is crate trained. He is not great on a leash and does not seem to be adapting to liking this. He will chew a leash into pieces and get loose. He does not like to be pet or cuddled and is still very scared of people.
Please do not inquire unless you have a secure privacy fence (wood or vinyl, no chain link, rail, or picket) and at least 1 other dog. He cannot be adopted to anyone in an apartment complex.
