Jimmy Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler Garden City, NY

This sweet boy is Jimmy! Jimmy is up to date on his vaccinations and preventatives, neutered, and microchipped. Jimmy is crate trained, housebroken, and knows basic commands. The few times he’s seen our cats, he’s gotten way over-excited, so Jimmy should go to a home with no cats, and due to his high energy, he shouldn’t go to a home with kids under 10. While he gets along great with our dog, he is reactive on the leash when he sees other dogs on his walks.

Jimmy is a large puppy, at approximately 55 pounds and a little over one year old. He’s got a lot of puppy tendencies, as well as the need for a few more manners, but nothing out of the ordinary for puppy behavior. As you can see, he has interesting markings, with a red body and a blue face.

Jimmy loves lots of things. Some of these include:
? People.
? Getting petted and having his belly rubbed.
? Chewing on kong toys, both with and without treats inside.
? Squeezing tennis balls until they break.
? Zooming around the yard playing chase with our dog.
? Digging holes in the yard.
? Eating dirt.
? Chewing sticks.
? Searching the kitchen counter for things to eat.
? Jumping 30” high baby gates.

Jimmy is a very personable boy, and he loves to cuddle. He has a ton of energy and wants to play all the time, but he does get pretty overheated on walks. We make sure to take breaks in the shade and bring water and a bowl on walks. He’s easiest to walk using a harness, but he needs work on walking with a loose leash.

Jimmy came to us a bit skinny, so we’ve worked on getting him back up to a normal weight and building muscle.
