Hello friends! My name is Jessie and I am 10 year old Pitbull mix. Before I came to MaxFund, I had a rough life. My previous owners mistreated me and my puppies, who I was very bonded with, were taken away from me only 4 months ago.

Due to my previous experiences I am very anxious and afraid of new surroundings and new faces. I need someone who can show me that there are kind, gentle, and loving people out in the world.

I am slow to trust, but if you devote real time and energy to help me regain my confidence with interactive training like playing games, learning to heel on walks and other activities that keep my mind active, I can become your close companion. Be prepared for me wanting to be near you all the time once we have bonded.

How our adoption process works:
1. You MUST come into the shelter to meet a dog you are interested in (and meet a few others, while you’re at it!)

Our hours are 10-5 Mon, Wed, Thu Fri / 11-5 Saturday / 12-5 Sunday
We suggest you call ahead to be sure the dog(s) do not have pending applications
2. You will fill out your adoption application, including references, after finding a dog you’d like to adopt
3. The application review and reference checks will take up to 3-5 business days; you will not be able to bring a dog home same-day
We only take 2 applications per dog, before they are unavailable. This is why we suggest you call ahead to check the status of the pup!

We do not adopt out-of-state.
