Meet Jessie
Hey everyone,
My name is Jessie. Are you looking for a fun, young, and playful dog? You are in luck, I may be “the one” for you! I am around 53lbs, a bull terrier mix, and I am estimated to be between 1-3 years old. I am still a puppy at heart! My future family will have to understand that with me, like all dogs, it will take a little while for my new home and me to get adjusted to the new routine.
My foster dad says I eat my food like a good little girl but when the people food comes out that really interests me! My foster dad has never given me any people food but I love to watch him prep himself a meal. He seems petty good at it! My foster dad says I don’t steal food or jump on the counter, I just like to watch. I don’t tell him, but secretly I am waiting for him to drop something so I can have it! He never drops anything. Big disappointment for me but I deal with it like a champ and move on when he finishes!
I absolutely love being around my foster dad, I follow him everywhere he will let me. I am super affectionate and cuddly! If you are looking for a snuggle buddy, I am your gal! My foster dad does crate me. It’s not my favorite thing in the world but I understand it’s a safe place for me to go until I become totally trustworthy. I will go in the crate, calm down pretty fast, and take a nap. I even have been sleeping in my crate at night too. He has also tested out how I do when left alone in the home. Not too bad if I say so myself. Other than the occasional accident, I mostly just sleep on the couch. I don’t bark much unless the doorbell rings for a package delivery or a visitor. I have to let my man know someone is here! Whenever I do meet knew people, I greet them with with a big hug around their waist and show them right to the couch where I can warm their lap.
My foster dad got me one of those tug-of-war rope toys with a rubber ball on the end. I just LOVE that thing! When my foster dad throws it, I chase after it. I don’t really retrieve it or bring it to him yet but the thrill of the chase is enough for me. I can get a little excited and mouthy when we play together but I always stop when he tells me to. My foster dad is so great to teach me not to do that. What a guy! Sometimes he gives me a Kong with peanut butter in the middle. Mmmm, peanut butter tastes so good!
My foster dad has taken me on many walks and I do pull a little. I can’t help it, I like to lead the investigation. Mostly because I am so excited to get moving and check everything out! Can you blame me? There is a whole new world of uncharted territory out there for me to explore. Pine trees are my particular favorite to check out. I can smell so many other dogs and that fascinates me!
My foster dad says that I have been working on “sit” and “off”(as in knock it off) and both are coming along nicely. I started to learn those pretty quickly, maybe you can start teaching me more tricks if you adopt me? My foster dad says that I come when called pretty well when he says my name or whistles. I love being by him so much that it doesn’t take much for me to be right back by his side. Every once in a while there is something that catches my attention outside and he has to repeat himself to get my attention.
What am I looking for in a fur-ever home? I am so glad you asked! I am looking for a home to be very active with, a home that will love a snuggle buddy, as well as a home that has the time and patience to continue my training. I am telling you, I will be so worth it!
