Hey there, name's Jesse. You can call me Jesse James, because I'm going to steal your heart! I'm single and love to mingle. But I'm looking for a long term commitment. I like long walks on a leash. I love to cuddle on the couch and I enjoy a good ear rub. I really don't want to share your attention with non-adults, so no kids allowed.
I would prefer to be an only dog as I do not like to share my toys, food, treats, bed, etc. I have recently lived with other dogs, so I might be able to tolerate one submissive other dog, but I really would prefer to live by myself.

Jesse is an 8 yr old smooth male dachshund. He's had a lot of change in his life in the last 6 months. He was a spoiled only child until his dad passed away and his mom moved into assisted living. Then he joined a family with 2 cats, a large dog and several kids. Jesse has shown that he does best in a calm quiet home with no children.
Jesse is potty trained, crate trained, and walks nicely on a leash. Jesse has lost 7 pounds in the last 6 months. He still has more weight to lose, so his new home has to be committed to continuing his diet and exercise program to get the last few pounds off of him so he can have a long healthy life. The extra weight is really hard on a dachshund's back so we want Jesse to be as strong and healthy as possible.

The adoption donation for Jesse is a minimum of $300 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs. Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to other geographical areas as long as we can find a local volunteer to perform the courtesy home visit, and requires the adopter to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". A securely fenced yard is necessary to adopt one of our terriers.
