Jerry was saved by our sister shelter in Arkansas. Jerry and his 3 siblings were surrendered one evening when it was 3 degrees and the pups were freezing outside. The shelter volunteers quickly brought them inside and took care of them. Jerry has been transferred to our rescue and is being fostered in Lyman, Maine.
He is a sweet 3-month-old baby boy who loves to play, give kisses, and snuggle. He weighs 23 pounds. Estimated date of birth: 10/29/22
Jerry is super sweet, and seems like he likes to be tethered to a human. He’s made pretty strong connections to most of us in the foster home. He plays really well with our adult dog, about 60lbs. He has been so good with our toddler - we’ve just been working on jumping manners, and not taking snacks from babies.
He’s interested in the cats, but so far has only sauntered after them. There haven’t been any major chases, and when he can’t see them anymore, he loses interest. He’s probably the most mild mannered foster we’ve had in that regard.
He has slept really well, both during the day and at night. He’s been in the crate, and making it through the night stretches (about 6-7hrs) with a late last potty break he can make it to morning.
Still working on potty training, but many bathroom breaks have helped. He goes outside right away when he’s taken out, but still having some accidents as we work through. We know it’s par for the course as he works up bladder strength.
Overall, he’s a massive love bug, wants to snuggle in, and we think he’s a wonderful pup. I wouldn’t have any reservations to him going to home with kids or other animals.
