Bow-Wow, I'm an 8 year old black lab (6/16/09). I was originally rescued as an 8 week old pup. My current family adopted me and I have been very happy with them. My mom is a runner, and on a few runs with her (which I love) I was unexpectedly approached by some dogs that were not friendly to me... that has made me very weary of other dogs, so sadly now, I need to be the only dog living with a family. I weigh 60 pounds, havebeen micro-chipped and am completely vetted. I am trained in all the basic commands and e-collar recall, housebroken, and walk well on a 6' leash. One of my favorite things is a good game of fetch, but I'm also content spending my days laying in a patch of sunlight in the house. I love chewing on my Nylabone and getting treats or peanut butter out of my Kong. I am crate trained and will happily go into my crate.

I do well when left alone, riding in the car, have been boarded regularly with no issues, and I love all people. I will happily accept affection from strangers! I would do best in a home with a fenced yard as I can get distracted by wildlife. I have been trained to respond to an electronic training collar, even the vibrate setting get's my attention.

Due to past scary incidents with other dogs while out running with my mom, I'm no longer dog friendly. Whether the other dog is 6 pounds or 100, they make me nervous and I can get defensive. I have not been around other types of pets before and would need to be tested. I would love a calm household without young children. I am a healthy, happy lab. I hope you'll consider adopting me.
