Meet Jen Jen JuM

Meet JenJen

Name:

When I first got to the rescue the humans here called me JenJen and even though I was a wee bit unsure of all these folks, I did come towards them when they said “JenJen”. Admittedly, not because I was into them, I did it for the hotdogs. At my Foster House, I warmed up quickly to the humans and I love being with them SOOOO much. I come out of my shy shell pretty quick once I am in a safe space.

Word of the Day:

Infurvention. Sometimes humans that love other humans call for an intervention to tell their human to git it together mister. The Animal Care Services Officers staged an “infurvention” for me and my housemates, because our person was keeping too many dogs at one time.

Likes:

Toys and running and playing.

Age/Weight/Breed:

I am breed ambiguous. I look most like a double sized Border Terrier at 4 years and 30 pounds. Border Terriers have appeared in the films There's Something About Mary and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, they often play the role of a mutt in movies. I am just that. A good old mutt. The ladies think maybe Terrier SharPei mix to give me these itty bitty ear flaps. The other lady said I look like a one of those designer cockadoodledoo dogs because my hair reminds her of a poodle.

Skills:

I am leash and potty trained. I don’t like my kennel, but you can leave me in a small room and I will behave myself.

Social Factor:

Let’s just say I am not gonna get up in front of the entire crowd and do an epic toast at your wedding. Since I came from a house that had too many dogs and not enough people to pet all the dogs, I was lacking in the human to canine social skills. I do approach people to initiate contact because I hunger for attention (and hotdogs). Once I know you, I will be your BEST BUD.

Good with Other Dogs:

Heck yeah, pawdon my French, but I adore other dogs. Dogs were my besties since I was born. I like to explore with my doggie friends. In fact, I hope at your house, if I come live with you there is a nice doggie friend that will show me the ropes.

How Far She Has Come:

When I first got here and we started at square one with leash walking. I was like Whoa. How crazy is this. The human wants me to follow them while they pull a string. I guess humans do look for a litteral way to connect with us dogs. Now I am really good at it. Who knew!

Favorite Quote:

The lady said I am supposed to say something really endearing right now, but I don’t know what endearing means. So I will say my favorite quote from There’s Something About Mary and it goes like this “I say they should put more meats on a stick, you know? They got a lot of sweets on sticks-popsicles, fudgesicles, lollipops - but hardly any meat.” I agree. So pack up some meat on sticks and come meet me, I think we can make a real connection with a leash and furgatively with our hearts.

Basics:

JenJen JuM- female, 4 years, 30 lbs, Border Terrier/SharPei/Poodle mix, good with dogs, blonde, sweet but shy, came from a hoarding situation so she will need extra patience and time to decompress and settle but once she does, she will LOVE you, potty/leash trained
