Meet Jelly Bean:: 7 years old, 35 pounds, 18 inches tall Spayed Female Pug mix.

This squishy-faced lady is searching for her forever home! Jelly Bean absolutely loves taking walks, runs, car rides and hikes and is wonderful on a leash as long as no other dogs are anywhere in the vicinity. However, despite being such a smart girl, no one has been able to reduce her extremely high reactivity on a leash to other dogs so is best kept to exercising and playing with in a fenced yard. She is snuggly and loves her people very much. She is a very loyal girl. She loves to play with squeaky toys and tug toys and is very well potty trained, will sit, stay and lay down on command. She does great with the cats in her current home and is also good with children.

Jelly Bean was adopted from us in 2020 and her family absolutely ADORES her, but little Jelly Bean had an incident where she darted outside off leash through the front door and she and a neighbor's dog got into a tiff. Her adopter was injured in the hand (by the other dog) breaking up the fight as often happens but doesn’t want to risk that happening again so her adopters are returning her to us (per our adoption contract).
Her forever home needs to take steps to ensure that Jelly Bean cannot dart out the front door by using a baby gate or putting her in a different room before opening the front door.

When introduced properly, Jelly Bean does okay with other dogs, but she is not interested in companionship with them, so she may do best as the only dog in the home. Jelly Bean would love to have a quiet home in a rural area where she can enjoy her life just making her humans happy!

$165 Adoption Fee.

All Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, heartworm tested, current on heartworm and flea prevention, and microchipped.

Along with other criteria evaluated in the adoption application, a Fenced Yard is required to adopt.

Our adoption area, unless otherwise specified in their bio, is within a two hour radius of Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue for adult dogs, and within a one hour radius for puppies.

Adoption events are held every Saturday in our thrift store from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Please complete your adoption application in advance so our volunteers have time to screen and contact potential adopters.

IMPORTANT: All applications are reviewed in the order they are received and qualifications are based on best fit for each individual pet. A volunteer will contact you if you are selected for a meet with adoptable pet. Final approval is always made in person.
