Jazz-adopted! Border Collie Mix Minneapolis, MN

Jazz is a 2.5 yr old attentive, cuddly, petite Border Collie mix who weighs about 32 lbs. Gorgeous, sweet and smart, Jazz loves her people and all the attention they are willing to provide. She also loves being active outside.

Jazz is looking for a family that enjoys being outside as much as she does. She loves to go for walks, hikes, and will happily help supervise your gardening in summer. After a fun day of activity, she’s happy to chill out with her family. Her resume includes experience as a home office manager, happily napping while you work or watching squirrels out the window for signs of pending invasion.

The perfect family for Jazz will have a proven track record of helping dogs gain confidence. She is not sure how to behave when meeting another dog while leashed. She may erupt into barking that sounds aggressive, but is likely based in fear. Jazz meets and plays with new dogs well when both are off leash.

As evidenced by her behavior on leash, Jazz is unsure of new situations and we want her to learn to look to her humans for direction. Her foster family has been walking her in a gentle leader, which is helping. Jazz’s new family will need to enroll her in classes to help build a strong bond and help her know she is safe.

Jazz requires a fenced yard (with a preference for privacy fencing), and is not a candidate for invisible fencing. She would be best in an adult home because loud noises and unexpected events that can happen with children in the home can send her running to her crate or a safe space she has chosen in the house.

Fine as an only dog or with a friendly canine companion, Jazz is silly and playful, and very loving. She adores her people and wants to be with them as much as possible. She currently logs many miles a day zooming around the yard with her canine foster brother. Jazz prefers a kitty-free home. She is food motivated and very easy to train, and just needs the right family to commit to working with her.

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry email through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Jazz's adoption fee is $350 + MN sales tax. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations
