Jaydee's Story
Jaydee was found as a stray in Vancouver and ended up at the Pound. He was adopted for a few months, then Returned to the pound. Then he was transferred to a rescue on the island and Returned in a day. Then he ended up here at LMHS. It's time for him to land in a home forever. JD is about 4 years old. (10/2025)

What can I say about this guy? I'm sure there's someone out there that would absolutely LOVE an emotionally unstable dictator in a small package, with the uncanny ability to know exactly how far to push you towards utter insanity, before reverting back to a loveable creature.

People have said that I have ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), I can't say they're wrong.

Ask me to come? I will come part way, then get distracted by the smells of the grass, the leaves, or whatever else is in my path. I'll come eventually, but I'll just take my sweet time, leaving you standing there, doubting your life decisions, so keeping me on leash or long line would be wise

I would love to be inside with my humans, but with the ability to go outside and check things out whenever I want (I think that's called a doggie door). A Farm would be my perfect pad. I believe I am a Great Pyrenees, who can take on coyotes and cougars, but my humans have told me that I would lose! If you've got a fenced in yard or acreage that I cannot escape, I will be your farmhand forever! I'd prefer to just have this type of freedom as opposed to being repressed by these things called leashes.

I do get along with most dogs, with proper controlled interactions, but if you ain't neutered, or if you approach me with Ill intent, prepare for battle!! I have met a few cats and am fond with them because they are kinda like dogs! They don't run, so I don't chase.

No little people in my life please and thank you. They'll get me over excited, and I may unintentionally hurt them by jumping on them.

I like to climb up onto things so I can have a bird's eye view of everything. This includes counters and cabinets near windows. I will knock all your shit off the counters just so I can have the perfect spot for my viewing enjoyment (like a cat I am)

I am so amazing that I can open drawers. I love to see what's inside those drawers, so if you're hiding stuff from your guests, you better figure out a way to keep those drawers shut!!

I will demand bark if you demand anything from me, and we can have a barking war! I'm pretty sure I would win haha. I do love my crate and enjoy just sitting inside with the door open. I was really touch sensitive around my neck and my rescue mommy discovered that I must have been forced to wear a shock collar at some point in my previous life before I was a stray. We've worked through that now and I'm cool.

I prefer to be the only dog in the home, but can co-exist with the right pal. I do get over excited when someone knocks on the door, or rings the doorbell, and I will not know what to do with my energy. Sometimes I'll redirect on what's standing closest to me, be it my dog pal or human pal. (I mean no ill intent, I just don't know what to do with myself).

I am NOT suitable for the first time dog owner, or in an apartment setting.

Will you be mine? I promise to drive you crazy only some of the time, and love you so much the rest of the time!

I am neutered,.vaccinated, microchipped, with regular flea treatment and deworming.

My adoption fee is $495
I'm looking for a forever home, I'm sure you can also foster to adopt to make sure we are a good match!

Please apply for me by copying and pasting the following link into your web browser.

www.lowermainlandhumanesociety.org/adoption-application/
