Meet Jayce the Ace
Watch his video here:
Jayce the Ace is a beautiful tan and white pittie lab mix approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 60 lbs. and is fully grown! He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Initially when meeting new people, Jayce is a reserved guy who keeps to himself and doesn't love bomb you right off the bat. Almost like he is playing hard to get but it's not that hard, he just needs a little confidence boost and reassurance to be the social butterfly that we can see in him. Jayce has a sweet spot right behind his ear that he simply can't resist. His kisses are hard to get though, he doesn't give those out for free and only those that are truly worthy get kisses from Jayce the Ace. He would make a great addition to a semi active family with dog savvy kids (10+ and up). Jayce does prefer a calmer quieter household; he can overwhelm and get nervous with too much commotion in a household. So, if you want a furry companion to take with you on hikes, enjoy the outdoors and then join you in a nice relaxing evening at the house with some of your closest friends, Jayce the Ace is the pup for you. He loves to be outside and absolutely loves the water. If he had it his way, the pool or pond is where he would stay if you let him. Jayce also had great house manners and wasn't bothered by all of the activity going on around him. We also suspect that he is potty trained, but he may need a reminder once he arrives at this forever home. He isn't jumpy or mouthy and was fairly comfortable being on the couch after some encouragement. Jayce is very dog friendly and is so tolerant with dogs that have rough play styles. He loved it! He also met a small scruffy dog that weighs approximately 20 lbs., and he did show some interest, but it didn't take long for him to move on and to start playing in the water again or playing with his dog friends. Slow introductions to smaller scruffy dogs will be best for him. Jayce also did really well during the cat test. He actually was terrified of our resident cats and wanted nothing to do with them and made sure to keep a good distance between him and the kitties. He even used the couch as leverage thinking the couch would be his safe space, but he realized it wasn't, and he just walked away from the cat again. Jayce would be best placed in a home with other moderately playful dogs in the home and would do best in a home with a backyard where he can enjoy the fresh air and have plenty of space to run around and play with his future doggy sibling(s). Jayce has great leash skills and already knows some basic commands. He has a really nice balanced energy about him and would be a great running or hiking companion and as well as a chill around the house type of pup. We are willing to test Jayce with anything you need us to in order to ensure it's the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?
The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog youve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!
Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dogs needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!
It doesnt stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:
30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
