Meet Jay

This sweet girl's name is Jay. She is living in Las Cruces with a caring couple who found her, along with her sister Kai (assuming the two are littermates) off a frontage road, lost or abandoned. Jay is about one-year-old and seems to be fully grown.

She is living in the couple's backyard fenced area until a loving home can be found. The couple has several dogs of their own and so they aren't able to keep Jay and Kai much longer. Call or text Jayson at 915-256-8466 to discuss adopting sweet Jay (or Jay and Kai together).

Jay has been friendly when meeting adults and children. She is a little shy at first. Jay feels comfy when people sit down and let her come to you. This way, she gains confidence and some trust, then she enjoys attention and affection. Jay loves to get behind you on a chair to snuggle. She also adores belly rubs. Jay will accept as many belly rubs as you're willing to give to her.

Jay likes to dig but when she is given more space to play and romp in the yard she digs less. She is not good with chickens. Though Jay doesn't have any experience with cats, based on her intense interest in chickens, she may not be good with cats.

Jay is happy to see the other dogs that live in the couple's home. She's been friendly and interested in being with them. She plays and gives positive and happy body language around dogs. Jay is a submissive type with other dogs.

Jay would love to have a fenced yard and to be with another dog to learn the ropes of 'dogging'. The couple doesn't know if Jay is house-trained as she hasn't had time in their home. They are unaware of her house-trained status. Jay is fed her meals along with her sister (assumed littermates) Kai and they eat fine together.

Jay will do best if adopted by people who give her time and patience and love so she can learn how to live in a family and in a home.

Call or text Jayson at 915-256-8466 to discuss adopting sweet Jay (or Jay and Kai together). There is no adoption fee. Jay is listed for adoption as a courtesy of Sierra County Humane Society. Information included in this bio was provided by Jayson.
