"Howdy! Have you ever seen a dog as adorable as me?! Can you believe I’m homeless and am waiting for a wonderful person or family to adopt me? Great dogs like me end up in animal shelters every day- I know, it’s so hard to believe but it’s true!

My name is Jax, and I just joined the adoptable doggy crew at Providence Animal Center from North Carolina. I'm around 7 years old, about 17 pounds, and I'm all set to move right into your heart & home today - already neutered, microchipped & up to date on vaccinations.

I'm currently staying with a foster family and enjoying the company of my foster siblings. They are helping me build my confidence. I would love a home with another doggy roommate. My ideal home would have a fenced in yard as I have not had a lot of exposure to the world, so I'm a bit apprehensive of it, so a suburban home might would suit me best. I'm hoping to work on my leash skills without lots of distractions. If you have children in the home, I would do best with older children that are about 15 years old or older.

My foster mom has the following to say about me:
"Jax is a super sweet dog. He loves his naps. He was nervous in the beginning but once he knows he is safe, he settled right in. He is very food motivated. His leash skills are progressing. The harness really helps! He has also done well with our cat!"
