Jax! Big, Beefy, Block Head! Pit Bull Terrier & Mastiff Mix Meriden, CT

Meet our boy named Jax! Jax is about 3.5 years old and is beefy boy! Jax is a cool dog who is pretty smart! He will sit and give paw all day long! Jax is a very loving and affectionate dog who craves attention from people. He just wants to cuddle up and be loved so bad!
Jax is a big boy, at a good weight he should be around 80 lbs. He is having a hard time keeping weight on because of all the stress of living in a busy shelter for so long. He loves to go on walks and has been doing really well wearing his harness when going out. He is not reactive to other dogs while he is out for his walks. Jax loves to play, but most of all he just wants to be pet and given attention.Jax is a bit jumpy at first, so he can go to a home with children 12 years old and older.
Jax was attacked by a larger dog before coming to our facility, so he is not a huge fan of larger dogs. He seems to do better with females and with dogs smaller than he is. Jax is already neutered and UTD on vaccines! We love our Jaxy boy and we are hoping to get him out of our shelter before Christmas! You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID.There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal.
ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME.
