Jax's Story
Meet Jax!
Nickname: Jackson Brown, Jax of All Trades
Breed: Rottweiler mix, possible Cattle Dog?
Rescue: Albert's Dog Lounge
Age: senior
Weight: 106 lbs, but I am trying to be less curvy!
Fun fact: despite my weight, I can jump up on the couch and make myself at home.
Did you know: I grew up around lots of different animals (like chickens and bearded dragons)
Foster home: Hartland, WI
Home state: Wisconsin
Activity level: Medium.
Friendly with: people, dogs, and all sorts of other animals. I haven't been cat tested, but because I am good with so many types of animals, it is likely that I would do just fine. My previous owners said I did well with kids, but I do not interact with children in my foster home.
Sleep style: I currently sleep on a dog bed on the floor, but just wait til I shed these extra pounds and can jump up on the bed with you! I will be the big spoon, ok?
Meals: reduced fat/ protien kibble, 1.5 cups twice a day. This is a bit lower than recommended, but I have a lot of pounds to lose to get healthy (like 30 pounds, sadly)
Snore-o-meter: 2
Bark-o-meter: 4 I bark at others, when it seems like I want to play. I don't move around so well with all this extra weight, so I have to ask the other dogs to come to me.
Shedding meter: 7, but likely because it is spring, that magical time of year when we blow our winter coat!
Fart-o-meter: 2
Fashion: a gold chain and a slouchy Kangol hat
Signature color: Red
Walk out song: I Need Love by LL Cool J
Favorite season: Spring (really any season when I can go for walkies with my human!)
Personality: Cuddly, laid back, adventurous on walks
Best feature: My loyalty and love. I just want to be your forever dog.
Signature move: Letting the wind blow through my fur, window down in the car, on a sunny day
Loves: Food (really love my foster dad's chicharrones!), SNIFFari in the yard, Lazy Sunday, hanging out on the couch, walkies, car rides, cuddling with you
Bucket list: learning to waterski, cutting my own rap album, finding my forever family

Jax is super housebroken and has a solid bladder, so no worries about accidents in the house. He loves walks, which are wonderful for helping him lose his extra weight. He is currently on thyroid meds and glucosamine chews, but is a pretty healthy older guy. He enjoys chew toys and balls and just generally being a dog.

Neutered
Microchipped
Housebroken
Takes treats gently
Walks well on a leash
Excellent in car (requires help getting in/out)
Roams freely when home alone
UTD on vaccinations
UTD on preventatives

Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs.

Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair).
