Meet Jasmine-ADOPTION PENDING

Our sweet and beautiful Jasmine couldn't be more loving no matter how hard she may try. Jasmine is a 1-year old, 45 lb German Shepherd/Lab mix..or a Sheprador that is just waiting to be the love of someone's life.

Both German Shepherd and Labrador Retrievers have grown in popularity over the past few years...so much so that it has created a new breed called a Sheprador. The German Sheprador is also called the Labrashepherd. Despite their new unfortunate status as a designer breed, you may find these mixed breed dogs in shelters and rescues, so remember to adopt! Don’t shop!

If you’re looking for an extremely loyal family companion, a Sheprador might be a good fit. Training with these mixes is very important and should start early to create a bonded relationship with clear boundaries. Exercise should also be an important part of a Sheprador's life for fun, contentment and general well-being. While Shepradors are not excessively barky they will alert when strangers approach. They’re protective of their loved ones and very friendly with people, children, and other dogs.

Farfel's rescues almost every Shepherd/Lab mix that is in need of our help with confidence they will have great temperaments (all our dogs are temperament-tested), be sweet as can be and are excellent family members with all age groups as well as other dogs. Jasmine has all these wonderful traits and was described by her Arkansas foster mom as ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!

Jasmine's Arkansas foster mom had the following to brag about the awesome Jasmine... Jasmine is a sweet as can be (she was a star and aced her temperament testing!) German Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix (Sheprador) that landed in an Arkansas shelter through no fault of her own. We believe that this wonderful girl was used for breeding purposes (Shepradors are now very popular) and was treated very poorly. We're so grateful that a very compassionate Arkansas rescuer saw the beauty and pure love that lived inside of this gorgeous girl and brought her to a loving foster home for nurturing, excellent care and tons of hugs.

We would love to see Jasmine in a home that includes her in family time and activities (and some couch-time with belly rubs, loving words and yummy treats would be perfect!). A family that takes that extra step to participate in positive reinforcement obedience classes is a gift to every dog and their people. These classes take a very smart and cooperative pup like Jasmine and teaches them the skills to accompany their family out into the world with consistently excellent behavior. We feel that this training experience is vital to a dog's development and bonding with their people..we therefore will only choose a home for Jasmine that embraces this training experience for her and their family. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual approved positive reinforcement/force-free trainers in your area.

We envision Jasmine in a home that will provide her with exercise and mental stimulation. Jasmine wouldn't be happy spending long hours alone…she is far too people-oriented to be happy with that arrangement. A retiree or a person that works from a home-based office would be perfect for our social girl. Jasmine would love the companionship and consistency of those relationships. Jasmine also enjoys the friendship of others dogs. A fun time for our wonderful girl is playing hard in the backyard and then lying in the sun close beside her canine best friend. We feel that a fenced yard is mandatory for Jasmine's happiness, love of fun/play and exercise requirements.

Our family-oriented Jasmine loves to come along ..be it to a dog-friendly park, a hike on a Colorado trail (she's very comfortable walking on a leash), a vacation or just socializing…Jasmine would love to be there as Companion #1. She has a quiet personality and therefore is so easy to take along on fun adventures. Jasmine is super-friendly and social, and is low-maintenance enough to fit in just about anywhere a well-behaved and very friendly dog is welcome.

Jasmine has a stunning golden coat that is currently shelter-sad. She will require a lifelong commitment to periodic baths/brushing and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are very important regimens for general longevity and coat care) to keep her hair super-soft, very healthy and shining with good health.

We've requested that Jasmine be spayed/microchipped prior to her transport to Colorado. We're not optimistic that this will occur due to far too many rescue dogs and not enough vets in this area of rural Arkansas. If it doesn't, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Jasmine's spay/microchip following her arrival in Colorado if one of our rescue vets is used.

Jasmine will be arriving on transport in Denver on Wednesday 4/28/2021. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If you're interested in this extremely sweet, kind and fun-loving best friend, please fill out our Farfel's adoption application completely and submit.

**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Jasmine please be sure to fill out the Farfel's Rescue adoption application that can be found at the link above or at farfels.com. Rescue site applications such as Adoptapet, Rescueme and Petfinder don't provide enough information for our purposes. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit a Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
