Meet Jamison

Jamison is another save from the wrath of Hurricane Harvey. This VERY handsome boy is approximately 2 years old, and weighs about 20 lbs. We believe he is an Irish Terrier mix. Unfortunately, Jamison did test positive for heartworms, but is being treated while in foster care, in Troy, Virginia.

from Jamison: I just absolutely LOVE to snuggle on the sofa beside my human, and playing with my foster brothers is 'da bomb'. While all 3 are boys, and all are bigger than me, I get in there and play and wrestle just like we were real brothers. I'm sure I would be just fine with a big sister type dog too. I do NOT get a warm fuzzy feeling in my tummy over smaller dogs though, and I probably should not be around cats or other small critters that might be kept as pets (birds, gerbils, guinea pigs, rabbits, etc), as I have a typical Terrier prey-drive. I have not hurt anything, to the best of my knowledge, but my previous training (or maybe instinct) taught me to pin them until someone comes along to pick them up. I love older kids (at least 10 years old, or older, and who are small dog savvy) and of course, I love adult size people.

I am crate trained, have done very well with 'doing my business' outside, and if I do say so myself, I do well on a leash. My foster home has a doggy door, and I'm getting pretty good at using that! Oh, and I almost forgot . . . I LOVE to play in the water. When I was first pulled from the shelter, my foster family gave me a little bucket of drinking water. Well, I thought what the heck, how am I supposed to fit into THAT little thing?!?!? I guess they saw me and gave me a little bigger tub, and yep, I climbed right in. :)

If you have questions, or are interested in adding me to your family, please complete an adoption application, which can be found at the Green Dogs Unleashed website, under the forms tab. www.greendogsunleashed.org

PLEASE NOTE: Our first communication will be via email, so please keep an eye on both your inbox AND your spam folders. There will not be a phone call until later in the process.

GDU does ask a minimum adoption donation of 300.00. This is a minimum donation and does not cover all expenses as we are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum donation includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate, heartworm test and preventative, if age appropriate and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. The foster family may send along a small transitional bag of the food they have been on, and if they have grown particularly attached to a special toy, blanket, etc., they may send this as well. This minimum donation does not even begin to cover the actual expenses each animal has while in rescue, but does go directly towards vet care for our rescue animals.
