Meet Jake… from State Farm? No, from STAF!

Jake was found tied to a tree in Kentucky, pleading for help. We can’t fathom how anyone could do that to this incredibly sweet boy.

This Jake may not be answering calls in Khakis but he’s always on duty…He’ll greet you at the door with a squeaky toy in his mouth, follow you around like your personal assistant, and ensure you never have to go to the bathroom alone ever again.

Jake is the sweetest boy to all his human volunteer friends. His signature move is to hold a toy in his mouth and back his booty up to you for scratchies and hugs.

Jake has some doggy playmates at STAF that he loves to romp around with!

We learned that Jake has some hearing loss so if you’re looking for a guard dog to alert you of visitors, he may not be your guy. But, if you’re looking for a quiet, couch potato….you’ve found your match!

• All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.
• We do not do same-day adoptions. You will be asked to return for at least one follow-up visit, then take the dog home for a trial period before officially adopting.
• You must be 21 years or older to adopt from STAF.
• Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training, we can not adopt to homes with invisible fences.
• We do request vet and personal references.
• We can facilitate adoptions within a 30-mile radius of our Cincinnati-based shelter.
