Meet Jager

Check out these beautiful photo's taken by BBBR Volunteer Photographer Brittany. Brittany says: Someone told Jager to always dress for what you want to be in life. Jager wants to be The King so he got himself this snappy cape. We tried to tell him Elvis was the King of Rock and not the actual King. But it turns out Jager doesn't actually care- he just wants to be seen as Royalty in someones house.

This poor boy has been in boarding for a very long time and is ready to find his forever family. He is very smart, has great energy and is incredibly attentive. If you are looking for someone to play with, hang out on the couch with or have some serious snuggles with- Jager is your man.

Whatever you do- just treat this guy like royalty- he deserves it!

BBBR Volunteer Talitha says:
Well.... while I'm sad and missing Jager so much right now, the trip to Washington was a total success and a lot of fun! It's amazing the transformation outside of the kennel! He is so calm, so curious, so playful and most of loving. That's all he's guilty of ... Wanting love and attention and he is great about giving it back too. He did everything with us- took rides to the store, watched while we worked on my brother's new house inside and out, watched movies and relaxed and lots of much needed naps! It rained so much that we unfortunately didn't make it to the beach but we did take a lot of long walks and although wet, it was beautiful scenery all around us and he thoroughly enjoyed himself. He also did get to indulge in a few pieces of turkey and bread. I couldn't help it. He's nothing short of a wonderful, funny, cuddly companion for someone. I hope the right person finds him very soon!!! Someone that's patient and loving and can help teach him to be best dog he has the potential to be. He deserves it so much!!!

BBBR Volunteer Deanna says: Man oh man, this wiggle butt has been doing soooo good! I sure have been enjoying my Sunday mornings with him!!! He again heeled with no problems! When not heeling he is hardly pulling! I do believe he would make a good candidate for a search and rescue type job! He is super smart and learns quickly and sure has a nose on him!!! He does not get distracted by squirrels or birds! He was so well behaved today!!! I can't wait for him to find a home!!

Thank you to BBBR Volunteer Nikayla for: This cute little man is Jager and he is the most playful little thing. When first approached, Jager can be very hyper and eager to show that he appreciates your presence but walking helps him to calm down. He knows the command sit and he responds to his name. If he spots you, he will give you lots of lovin' and he likes treats and to chew on toys. He's dog friendly and responds curiously to other dogs like he wants to go say hi and he seems like he would be a very good dog for someone who has another dog in their home.

Jager is a 4 year old male American Pit Bull Terrier/ Mix. He weighs 56 pounds and is still a puppy at heart in many ways.

He is going to make a wonderful family dog! Are you the one? Please refer to and fill out an application if interested.
Thank you to BBBR Volunteer Deanna for: I spent the morning with this adorable wiggle butt, Jager!!! Let me tell you, what a dream walker!!! He heeled right out of the door, and had very little pulling!! He loves to lean into you when he is getting some lovin' and takes treats real gently!!! He had no interest in squirrels or birds, but is still wondering what those cows are all about! I was starting to teach him "shake" and I ran out of treats, but I think that he will figure that out pretty quickly!! He still has a lot of energy but I think with a routine in a loving home he will settle in!!!

Thank you Volunteer Helena for taking Jager out for a puppicino.
Do you need a partner? A best pal? A furiend? Here is he is. Meet Jager. He is a genuinely loving soul who is ready to be all of those things for you. He is smart, loving, and a real Happy Dude. Jager really dislikes the kennel life so he is super excited when you first open the kennel door. But give this guy a couple minutes and he is ready to dome out in a calm manner. He is becoming a volunteer favorite, and gets so many compliments when he is out and about with them. Jager is currently working on his socialization skills with other four legged friends, and we are happy to report that he gets better each time. Jager has been waiting a very long time for his humans to come. Dog Trainer Dan of Emerald Street Kennels says: It was the first day I dropped the leash with Jager. He explored the yard with my dog Sandman, and they interacted closely. Once he realized he couldn't force Sandman to play with him he started doing zoomies around the backyard at Emerald Street Kennels! It was great!
BBBR Volunteer Photographer Brittany says: I cannot believe that Jager is still available for adoption- he has been waiting for a long long time.

Jager is a playful and affectionate goofball who will make you smile until the end of time. He loves to play with toys but loves the water the most. He likes to bob floating toys into the water and pounce on them. He loves to spend time outside and roll around in the grass.
