Meet Jade -
She like so many others have a sad story. Animal Control received a call that there was a dog at large on their property in the middle of the night. The ACO picked her up and brought her to the shelter. Upon arrival it appears this girl was very pregnant. It turned out that she had been in active labor and sought shelter in an empty dog house on that property to give birth. 3 of the puppies were later found on the property, unfortunately they did not make it. 24 hours after being brought into the shelter, Jad's labor restarted where she gave birth to 2 more puppies.

This poor mama was absolutely stressed and terrified in the shelter with all of the noise and commotion. Turned out she was also suffering from infection in her uterus. Animal Control rushed her to the vet and volunteers came to pick up her babies to bottle feed and care for them while she received medical treatment.

Sadly, it is with a heavy heart that neither of the newborn pups survived this ordeal. Mama has been in a foster home since her release from the vet. She is very sweet, clearly very sad and worried, her eyes speak volumes. She has an adorable underbite and each day she opens up a bit more. She wants love and compassion.
