Jade Jack Russell Terrier Mix Palatine, IL

This little lady is a small but mighty 8-month-old Jack Russell Terrier mix. She only weighs 20 pounds but comes equipped with 100 pounds of energy and personality. Jade is first and foremost a sweet and lovable pup. Whether you need a good snuggle or thorough face-licking, she will be your pick-me-up for the day! 

Initially shy and leery of new people, once you get to her level and she approves, Jade stops barking and gives you ALLLLLL the kisses. She typically gets along well with the other dog in her foster home, with an occasional challenge over a dog toy. Jade is potty-trained and has learned the sit, off, fetch, and drop commands. She learns quickly and listens well. She will let you know if she needs to go potty outside, by a jump or bark. Once outside, she takes some time to find her spot (likely due to ALL the SNOW), but wants you out there to keep a watchful eye (if in a fenced yard). 

On walks, Jade does well wearing a harness and alerts you and everyone else about any passing car, person, dog, tree, or snowflake. She is VERY vocal outside and barks at neighbors and dogs that may be in the yard next door. Jade would do well in a single family home as she can be persistent with her barking if she hears or sees anything she is concerned about (more so when outside). Because she is a bit mouthy and jumpy, no young children would be best.

Jade is crate-trained, but prefers to sleep with her humans and needs some persuasion to get into her crate. Also, she has to warm up a bit more to getting her collar, harness, or jacket put on, but does let you after some coaxing. She REALLY enjoys a great game of fetch and blasting her energy out around the yard. Her speed, leaps, and personality will amaze you, especially among the snow piles.
