Meet Jade

10/24/2020: We are welcoming Jade back to our rescue after 7 years. In 2013 we rescued this angel Pittie from a high-kill shelter in NYC. She came to us with a severe burn on her side and an injured eye - it was clear someone had been very cruel to her and still her heart remained full of love! She had her painful eye removed and her burns healed up. Soon enough she was adopted but sadly her owner recently passed away. So now, Jade is back with us in a foster home until we find someone special who she can live out her golden years with.

Jade is now 10 years old and still lovely and lively! Through it all, she has remained the absolute sweetest. Such a gentle love-bug and beautiful as ever (though she could stand to lose a few pounds - daily walks and a healthy diet would be great for her). Jade is housebroken and stays in her crate overnight without a peep.  She is well behaved and has a mellow personality. She has always been a gentle soul.  Jade loves to cuddle with you too! We really can't say enough nice things about her, and that hasn’t changed through the years. Someone is going to be so lucky to have Jade as their new best friend!

Interested in meeting and possibly adopting Jade? Fill-out an online adoption application via $325 adoption donation, reference check and home visit are required prior to adoption.

While in the care of the Sadie Mae Foundation, all animals are fully vaccinated, heart worm tested and spayed or neutered. Other medical treatments may be provided to our animals, depending upon their specific needs.

Info. about Sadie Mae Foundation's adoption process:
Please note that we do not ship animals or do same-day adoptions. Additionally, we ordinarily limit adoptions to homes within CT in order to be able to conduct a home visit and provide follow-up assistance when necessary. Please know we are open to adopting out to those within the New England area if we believe you and the animal are a good fit. Exceptions are always considered on a case-by-case basis.

We try to make our adoption process as easy and painless as possible, but please understand where we are coming from and all of the work that goes into rescuing and rehoming homeless animals. We don't want them to go through this again. Visit to learn about the adoption process in detail.

Please 'like' Sadie Mae Foundation on Facebook to stay up to date with our rescue organization!
