Meet Jackson – a smart and spunky boy who is excited to find his forever home!

• Status: Adoptable - multiple applications have come in and to allow Jackson's foster family time to review the current applications, we will not be accepting additional applications at this time

• 11 years
• Australian Shepherd mix
• Male
• Tri-color
• Currently 34 pounds
• Potential Size is 30-35 pounds
• House-Trained
• Crate-Trained, however, he becomes fairly bummed out when he is in his crate so his fosters have not used it often
• A fence would be ideal for Jackson to run around in and explore
• Baths and brushing as needed/medium shedder
• Regarding exercise, Jackson enjoys his walks and would ideally have a walk daily
• Owner Experience Needed - **Jackson is diabetic, so he will NEED someone who can administer his insulin twice a day, 12-hours apart**

• Great with people
• Enjoys the company of other dogs
• Friendly with kids – now that he is older, toddlers might be a bit much for him, so would prefer to live with older kids
• Was fine in the short time he spent with a cat
• Adoption Fee: $125.00

Personality: Jackson is a gentle, affectionate fluff ball

Hobbies: He enjoys his daily walks and chasing squirrels in the backyard

Quirks: One of Jackson’s favorite things to do is strut around the house with a sock or a shoe in his mouth when his foster mom first comes home - so adorable! Jackson also really likes the sand; he jumps in the air and barks and prances around it

Routine: Because of Jackson’s age, it would be important for his future family to have a schedule to let him out a few times throughout the day and that during the day, he is left out to roam versus being in a crate

Living Situation: Jackson is living with his foster mom and one other dog who he enjoys spending his days with while his foster mom is away at work – he is also let out by a dog walker twice a day, which is important because of his age

Ideal Home: He would love to have a canine brother or sister to hang out with! He is a delightful, smart gentleman who gets along with people and other dogs and is looking for a wonderful family/individual to offer him love, care, and LOTS of belly rubs!

His adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, leptospirosis, and bordetella) , HW and flea/tick preventative and microchip implant and registration.
Due to post-adoption services provided, it is Pet Haven's policy to only place dogs into homes within a 60-mile radius of the Twin Cities area.
