If Goldilocks were looking to adopt a dog, Jackson Brown (Jack) would be just right! At 26 pounds, he's the perfect size -- not too big, not too small. He’s about 8 months of age, so he's still got his puppy cuteness and silly puppy personality, but is well on his way to mastering his big dog manners.

Jack hasn't had a single accident with his foster family. He's super smart and very food motivated which makes him easy to train! He's learned "sit," "down," "shake" and is learning to "stay" longer and longer. He loves playing with dog toys and chomping on his chews. Since he is still a puppy, he may occasionally pick up something he's not supposed to, but he responds very quickly to a firm "uh, oh."

When there's a lot of noise and activity in the house, he gets excited and kicks into herding mode. Because of that, he would probably do best with older kids. Jack gets along with other dogs, but would be ok as an only dog if his family ensures he gets enough activity and games. Will your home be Jack’s happily ever after?

Due to his herding behavior jack is not recommended for homes with children under the age of 10. Jack is not suitable for apartments.

We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention.

All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
