Meet Jackie O.
NOTE: ALL INQUIRIES FOR JACKIE O. SHOULD GO DIRECTLY TO HER RESCUER SUE: Email: suekmwdadoptions@gmail.com. We are posting this as a courtesy listing upon her request and For Animals is not directly involved with this adoption or processing.]
Jackie O is a 5-month-old Catahoula-mix female puppy who currently weighs 26 pounds. She is sweet and good with cats. Jackie needs to continue her training, and would be best in a home she is the only dog, and with an active adopter who will enjoy running and working with her. Because Jackie is a mixed breed, she has more pointed ears and a longer coat than a purebred Catahoula. According to the AKC, the Catahoula is named after Catahoula Parish, Louisiana, and has its origins in the Choctaw word catahoula, translated to mean “sacred lake.” Read more about the Catahoula at https://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/catahoula-leopard-dog/.
Like her namesake, Jackie O. is a lovely lady. She has beautiful markings on her coat, and deep soulful eyes. All she needs is a forever home to call her own.
We are only taking applications that will continue training with one of our recommended trainers. In addition, there should be no kids under 10 in the household. There are no issues with Jackie O, but she gets easily distracted.
Only NYC, Long Island, and Westchester applications are accepted (NJ on a case-by-case basis). She has all vaccines and microchips. Spay appointment is in June, so applicant must bring her to her appointment.
