What is Laguna Beach Animal Shelter’s adoption process?

ADOPTION PROCEDURES It is our decision and choice to maintain certain criteria and policies for animal adoptions. These policies are for the protection of the animals in our care, as well as those of the adopters. We select the home and environment best suiting the animals’ requirements and the person adopting. Animals are available by application only. If you are interested in an animal, please fill out an application. Applications are filled out at the Animal Shelter only. Decisions are made semi-weekly on Wednesday and Saturday after the animal is released from any medical hold. Animals are not available on a first come basis. Every effort is made to place the animal in the most compatible & suitable home. All cats adopted must leave in a carrier (Yours or you may purchase one for $7.50) Our play yard is available for visitation and introducing other dogs from 11 AM to 2 PM daily. The dogs may be visited in the yard only after they have been examined by the veterinarian. All large breed dogs require a secure fenced yard. We encourage all household members to meet the prospective pet. We only adopt within a 60 mile radius of the shelter.
