Izzy is such a sweet girl! She is wonderful with people, especially kids. She loves to play with tennis balls, go for walks and on car rides. She loves to snuggle, watch tv with her humans, look out the window and lay in the grass on a sunny day. She shows you her belly, gives you her paw and spins by command. Her “play bow” when you get home and crazy tail will always make you smile. Her loud morning yawns and before bedtime sighs will win you over every time.

Izzy is good around human food and rarely begs. She is a licker though so if it’s something she really likes she might try to sneak her anteater like tongue in. She is coming around to having her teeth brushed and her ears/paws cleaned, but has always been super tolerant of being brushed. Her nails grow fast and she has short German Shepherd hair so we’d recommend fur-minator products and/or grooming services. She is a little weary of the vet so they’ll need to be gentle and give her extra treats.

Izzy's ears are super expressive and you’ll know if she’s scared or happy simply by looking at them. She doesn’t like fireworks or thunderstorms, so she’ll need extra pets. She will happily sleep in your bed if you let her, usually at the foot curled in an adorable ball. She likes to be independent and will sit in the yard or go lay in a room solo. When she’s tired, she’ll go up to bed even if we aren’t ready yet.

Izzy loves exercise and walks. She doesn’t love being home alone but can do so as long as you take her for walks afterward. She likes treats, ice cubes and all kinds of cheese. She’s a people dog and really just wants to be with her humans whether it be at home or out in the world. Izzy does do well with other dogs outside of her own home and even goes to doggy day care. Still, she needs to be the only dog in the home because the sudden actions and varying moods of other dogs can make her anxious. She’s protective and loving. She’s quirky and funny. She truly is deserving of the best home and so much love.
