Izzy Shih Tzu Mix Holmdel, NJ

I am a 12 year old, 20 lb Shih Tzu. I maybe older but that just means I have a lot of knowledge and experience! Of course I am completely housebroken and have not had a single accident with my foster family. I enjoy morning walks, afternoon naps, and long gazes out the windows and patio doors. I am very independent and love some alone time; but I also like to follow my people around sometimes to see what they're doing. My favorite part of the house is the kitchen; I love to watch my humans cook meals and I am willing to help with the clean-up!

I have a foster dog brother who is a lot bigger than me and I get along with him just fine! We each wait patiently for our turn when it is meal time. I never try to eat his food, even though he tries to eat mine! (Luckily, my foster mom always stops him, because I would not do anything about it.) I quickly warmed up to both my foster mom and dad. I make each believe he/she is my favorite and I love watching them compete for my attention!

All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where dogs can be seen during the week.
