Meet Ivy! An 11-week-old Shepherd mix (as of 9/13) who is looking for her forever home. Here is a little more about this smart and sassy gal.

Potty-Training: Work in progress – she does great when you watch and on a routine.

Crate Training: Ivy has loved sleeping in her crate and has no problem hanging out in there while you are out.

Dogs: Ivy will need another dog in the house. A calm, yet playful dog with a teaching spirit. She does take a few minutes to warm up so slow introductions will be important. She has grown up without a mother or siblings so having another dog in the house to help socialize her and guide her will be very important.

Cats: Unknown

Kids: She is a puppy who has entered the biting stage; older kids recommended.

Home: No apartments or town homes due to her vocal abilities.

Favorites: Ivy loves to play with toys and treats!

Training: As stated before, Ivy has entered the biting stage of puppy-hood. Her forever home will need to be prepared for that and be consistent and patient with training. She will challenge you when you try to teach her no but is a quick learner when she decides to set her stubbornness aside. She should also be enrolled in puppy/obedience classes.

Ivy came to Pet Haven on the brink of death and is the sole survivor of her litter that was abandoned. She has had quite the journey since then and has made tremendous progress. It will be so important that her forever home continues to help her on this journey with a balance of love, exercise, attention, training, and patience.

Because Ivy went through so much in the first few weeks of her life, we are waiting to have her spayed until she about six months old. Her adoptive home will need to pay a $75 deposit to ensure that that happens. Once she is spayed, the deposit will be returned.

Her adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, & Bordetella), HW and flea/tick preventative, and microchip implant and registration.

There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best guess.

Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.

Due to post-adoption services provided, it is Pet Haven's policy to only place dogs into homes within a 75-mile radius of the Minneapolis, MN city center.
