Meet Ivory — A Beautiful Soul with a Smile as Big as Her Heart Ivory is a stunning 2-year-old, all-white pittie with a heart full of love and a smile that could light up any room. She came to us from Oakland Animal Services after running out of hope — and time. After swallowing a toy in the shelter, Ivory underwent major surgery and made a full recovery in a loving medical foster home. Sadly, going back to the shelter left her anxious and stressed. Thankfully, her amazing foster family welcomed her back, and she’s now thriving. At 56 pounds, Ivory is the perfect medium-large size — strong enough for adventures, yet the ultimate snuggle buddy. She’s doing great with house and crate training, and loves having structure and routine. Ivory is a medium-energy girl who enjoys hikes, long walks, and car rides, but she’s just as happy rolling in the grass or cuddling on the couch. Her joy is infectious — she’s always smiling, and her photos could melt even the coldest hearts. We’re still learning her quirks. She can be a bit cautious with new people or sudden changes, but warms up quickly with gentle handling. She’s affectionate, goofy, and wants nothing more than to love and be loved. Ivory enjoys other dogs, especially those her size or larger who match her respectful, playful energy. Because of her strength and sensitivity, she’d do best in a home with big-dog or pittie experience — someone who can offer consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement. Our dogs are in foster homes all over the Bay Area and all adopters are required to travel to the foster home to meet. We do not have a facility. No meet and greet can happen until application is completed. Underdog Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy

Thank you for reading about our awesome dogs. All dogs came to us from different situations and we often do not know much about their past, but they are rescue dogs who deserve a second chance and need patience on their journey. All of our dogs our are in foster homes all across the bay area. The first step of the process is you must submit an application in order to set up a meet and great or talk with the foster family. Once application is submitted the foster parents will contact you to chat more about the dog and make sure they're a good fit and can answer any further question. The application answers most of all of our questions and can best match you. If you do not get the dog you apply for we can use your same application for 90 days towards another dog in our care and simply forward your app to that foster parent. **Reminder we are all volunteers working hard to save these dogs, some dogs may receive 20+ application to all be reviewed. We do our best to respond to all apps as we can. Since our start in 2014, we have built an outstanding team and have grown into a strong network of volunteers dedicated to saving the Underdogs in our shelters and community. We have dedicated our efforts to giving a second chance to the dogs that are most in need (medically or behaviorally) and the dogs that have been overlooked for too long. As a foster based rescue, Underdog places dogs in temporary foster homes where they can decompress and get the love and affection that they need. Dogs are also vaccinated, spayed/neutered and receive any other medical treatment needed before finding their forever home. Rescue is undoubtedly hard and trying work but it is entirely worth it to see the life of a dog saved. As a rescue, we believe it is our duty to save the dogs that really need our help; the dogs that need a little TLC, a little medical care, or just someone to believe in them again. This is why we save the dogs that are on their last days at the shelter or haven't even been given a chance to be adopted by the public. As much as we love those sweet puppy eyes, we think more of saving their mommy’s and daddy’s that have been shoved to the back of the shelter awaiting their fate.
