Meet Ivory

Look at this snow white beauty. Say hello to Ivory! ♥

I am curious. Do you have a bed that needs lying in? A couch that has an empty space? Because if you do, I would love to fill them! I hope I am not being too forward, its just that I never had those things. If I am remembering right, my past consisted of being mostly alone just wandering around. Then, I ended up in the shelter just to find out that after stray hold I was getting urgent due to lack of space. Thankfully a foster had stepped up for me and this rescue came for me. Now that I am here, I just adore anything soft! I love cuddling or curling up to it. I hope that whoever ends up adopting me is going to have all these things to! I promise that I am a veeeeery good girl. Keep reading and you will see what I mean!

My name is Ivory and I am a 1.5 year old female Great Pyrenees. I currently weigh about 67lbs, and will probably top out somewhere in the 75-80lb range.
So, first off I will say that I am a little bit of an introvert. I can be a little shy when first meeting new people. With that said, I do warm up fairly quickly. As long as I am with my people, I adjust to my surroundings fairly quickly and would probably do good if you wanted to take me out and about. My personality is the perfect mix of calm and playful. I know some dogs like to give hugs, but you don't have to worry about that with me. I am pretty laid back and chill. I do good on car rides, and don't mind road trips. I am still nervous on a leash, so hopefully my new home won't mind showing me that I have nothing to worry about. I am not sure that I would do well in an apartment setting. I really love being able to romp around and have fun outside leash free. I am vocal, but usually only when I hear or see something that would warrant it.
If you are wondering what my house manners are, I can tell you right now that they are excellent. I can be trusted with free roam of the house when no one is home. In fact, that is what my foster lets me do when she is away. Sometimes if the weather is nice I like being outside while she is away. As of right now, I can say that I am not a chewer. I do like playing fetch though, I should clarify though that I just play with the ball and never bring it back. That is my version of the game. I do have fun playing in water and playing with my toys. I know it is common for rescue dogs to have food aggression or try to resource guard things but so far I have not shown any signs of doing either. As I mentioned, I am a pretty chill girl. I don't have time for all that drama ;) I am potty trained, but not kennel trained.
I am good with other dogs and playful with them. I also do well with cats, and kids of all ages. Thinking about what I would like to have in my new home I am really not picky. I would be happy in a home with or whiteout kids, dogs, and cats. I do love playing outside so would prefer someone who has a doggie door or a bigger yard for playtime.

If I have not won you over yet I want to share what my foster says about me to hopefully seal the deal!

"Ivory is just a doll. She has one of the best temperaments of any dog I have ever seen. She is playful, so very loving, and very eager to please. Her favorite thing to do is lay outside and sunbath but coming in at a close second is to curl up next to you on the couch. She has wonderful manners and will wait for your command before doing anything she is unsure of. She is great with kids, other dogs, and cats. She will alert you when she needs to with her deep bark but is not an excessive barker. Ivory is so gentle with everything she comes in contact with. This sweet girl will be a great addition to any home!!!"

So, how about letting me fill that empty space? You can bring me home by applying at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app and filling out an adoption app for me.
My adoption fee is $225. That includes my DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordatella shots. I will be micro-chipped, heart-worm tested, ehrlichia tested, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on my heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.

Lastly, I am being fostered in Oklahoma City, OK. If I have caught your eye, but you live out of state..no worries! You can still adopt me as long as you can pick me up. This rescue doesn't send us on transports or ship us. As long as you don't mind our first adventure together being a road trip we will do PYRtastic!
