Meet Isabella

Isabella is estimated to be 2yrs old, in the high 40lb range, spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Initially, she came into rescue with a lot of fears. She was afraid of being leashed, going out on walks, going up and down stairs and riding in the car. She didnt know how to sit or use a dog bed and always preferred sleeping on cool spots on the floor. Thankfully with time, understanding, patience and positive reinforcement via treats Isabella has conquered many of her fears. Overall, she is still a bit noise sensitive so we do advise a quiet home environment/neighborhood for her.

Isabella is a friendly girl but like most jindos she can be cautiously aloof at first. She gets more curious without focused attention, learns to trust by having her boundaries respected and once she feels safe she will show you her adorable, sweet and goofy personality. She loves doing rollie pollies in the grass, playing with stuffies and doing quick meet and greets with dogs who are of mellow and respectful energy. She has been thoroughly dog tested with medium sized, male dogs and has done well with them.

Recently, Isabella went on weekend get away and did a 9 mile hike with her foster mom and jindo/akita mix foster brother. She had the time of her life going out on grand adventures in the great outdoors although she will need some practice to build up her stamina. She is of gentle and mellow energy and needs someone who is patient enough to allow her to come out of her shell at her pace. Isabella was recently dog sat by a TDF volunteer who is a very jindo/dog savvy. Although she was not in a familiar environment, she adapted very well by being allowed to decompress, having a strong leader and being allowed interact on her own terms. She ended up allowing pets, laying close to them, and enjoyed exploring her new surrounding. She instantly located the treat pantry!
