From his foster mom:
"Indigo (aka Ares) is smart and his DNA results put him at 77.2% German Shepperd 14% Siberian Husky and 8.8% Alaskan Malamute so this boy is energetic, smart, loyal, and stubborn at times. He is a talker and boy will he start up a conversation, which is normally back talk when he’s getting in trouble! He sure has the sweetest face and the calmest eyes but don’t let him full you, he’d rather run miles and swim than nap all day. Ares loves to cuddle but knows when the time is right. When it comes to small animals Ares thinks everything is a toy so remember to use caution especially since he doesn’t know his size. This boy picks up on training super fast and already knows sit, down, leave it, shake, kennel, wait, and is currently working on his recall and heel commands. Ares is a year and 3 months old as of November so he is still young and learning. He loves meeting new propels and is currently learning not to jump and to accept pets with a calm body! This guy is sure to bring joy to any home and become the perfect adventure partner."
Active dog lovers, you are going to be in heaven with this boy! Indigo is the kind of dog you can take on runs, jogs, to the lake, on hikes, and have him be your constant travel companion and he will eat it all up! Indigo loves to have fun and will happily join you on any adventure! Indigo was adopted back in April, but sadly his family works too much to give him the proper exercise and stimulation that this guy needs. Indigo has gone to stores, friends' houses, and even dog parks and did great! He loves meeting new people but can get a little overexcited sometimes and will either bark or try to hug a new person. Indigo is such a social butterfly and he gets so excited to make new friends that he sometimes forgets his manners, but it's all out of love and excitement. Indigo loves going places and he does awesome in the car! So, no matter where you go, Indigo will be ready to hop in the car and go with you! ♥ Indigo is a social butterfly and loves getting to go places with his family and meet new people. He would prefer to be more active outside the house, but he would also be fine with being a homebody some days if his new family had lots of toys and ways to keep him entertained/stimulated. Indigo loves other dogs and is eager to make friends, however, he doesn't appreciate if the neighbor dogs are going crazy at the fence and he will join in on the frenzy which is another issue that his adoptive family has been having. So, Indigo would love to have a more private yard where he doesn't always have other dogs riling him up. Indigo loves going on walks, but is very excited to check everything out and may pull. His former family has been working with him on it, but he could definitely benefit from some more training on the leash.
Indigo is the kind of dog who is always looking for something to do! He will play hard and then crash hard. He loves playing with toys, playing in the backyard, going for walks, playing with the other dogs, and being active with his family. He also enjoys playing in the water when given the chance. Once Indigo has gotten his energy out, he can be pretty chill and laid-back. Indigo also enjoys getting cuddles and pets. Indigo absolutely adores other dogs, both for companionship and as playmates. He would definitely benefit from having other playful dogs in his new home. Indigo is a people's dog and loves everyone, but he does get pretty excited and is on the more playful side. So, if his new family has kids they should be at least 8+ years. Indigo is not currently being fostered around cats, but one did stay with his family for a short time. While he never hurt the cat, he was very interested in it and was a little rough when trying to play.
Indigo is potty and kennel trained. If Indigo is not properly stimulated, he can be a chewer so his new family will want to make sure that everything is puppy-proofed and that he has plenty of things to keep him busy. Indigo can be a barker when he sees strange people/animals walking by. No stranger (squirrel or person alike) will be able to sneak into his yard unnoticed! Indigo may be okay in an apartment setting if his new family worked from home and was very active. Other than that, he would do best having a house with a yard to play and run around in.
Indigo will need an active dog-involved home with older kids. Indigo loves to explore and is super smart so needs a family who is willing to provide ample continued training. He loves lick mats and sniffle mats as indoor enrichment and will work for his food! He loves kong and puzzle toys as well. He does like a good nap on the couch and to just be with his people but if left alone for more than 30 minutes with free reign will get into mischief. Indigo loves to play play play. The dog park is his outlet for most of his energy but a sibling with the same level of playful activeness would be ideal. 1-3 years old.

Indigo is being fostered in Tulsa, OK. If you have fallen in love with him and are out of state, how about a road trip? We don't send our fluffy butts on commercial transports. So, if you want one of our amazing fluffy butts, it is time to plan a trip to good ole Oklahoma ?
