Meet Hux

Meet Hux, the handsome bundle of energy who's ready to turn your life into a non-stop adventure! This pup is on the lookout for a fun-loving family who can keep up with his zoomies and play!

His foster mom says he's the pup version of a straight-A student-he's house trained, crate trained, and knows all the basic commands. He just needs a person who will keep up his training, and exercise his brain and body!

So if you're ready for a furry sidekick who can turn any ordinary day into an epic adventure, Huxley is your guy! Just be prepared-he might just steal your heart (and your snacks) along the way!

He loves to play with other dogs but with his high activity level, is better in a home without small dogs. He LOVES to play but his play style is better with medium to larger dogs. He is a goofy teenager, and is best in a home with older kids, he tends to knock little ones over.

Notes from our trainer " Huxley is very response to positive reinforcement training. We have been working on touch, middle, leash skills, and impulse control exercises.
He is doing great during our sessions. He loves attention, very affectionate, and wants to be close to you.

Midwest Animal ResQ offers a 30-day adjustment period within which you can evaluate the pet's progress and your adoption decision. If, within those 30 days, you determine your recently adopted pet isn't a good fit, you may return the animal and receive a MARQ credit that can be used toward the adoption of another animal. Our biggest priority is finding the very best match for you, and Completing Families one Tail at a Time!

At the time of adoption all dogs are signed up with a unique Safe Paws QR pet ID tag, the adopter is required to maintain a monthly membership of $2.99/month for (at minimum) the first year. This helps insure your new furry family member makes his way back to you if lost. Leashes and collars are also required at the time of adoption. You are welcome to bring your own, or we have plenty to chose from at the shelter as well.

Our shelter is located at 10312 East 63rd Street in Raytown, MO. We are open to meet pets Tuesday through Friday from 10-6, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. We are closed on Mondays.
