Hurricane's Story

I am a playful and outgoing guy. I am probably the most active puppy out of my litter. I love to live life to the fullest. I will dive onto the food tray and plop down and eat. I will play with my siblings. I will run around outside. I love to explore and am always up for an adventure. I am someone who is always happy and always adventurous. I am someone who will make you smile and will always keep you on your toes.

I wasn't always so carefree. It was only a few short weeks ago that my owners decided that they no longer wanted my siblings and me. They threw us all in a cardboard box and actually taped it up. They then drove us to the dumpster and dumped us there and drove off. Can you imagine what it would feel like to be trapped in a dark small space? Can you imagine what it feels like to be crammed in that small space with 9 other warm bodies out in the heat? Can you imagine being so hungry that you tried sucking on any extension of a sibling you could find? Being so hungry and crazed that you thought those extensions might be a nipple and give you the food you so desperately wanted?

By the time someone had found us, my siblings and I all had missing patches of fur and were found covered in pee and very hot. We were brought to the shelter and from there they reached out for rescue help. Thanks to our amazing foster mom for stepping up for all 10 of us, this rescue was able to take us in. Due to my siblings and I sucking so hard on one another and for so long, we had some pretty bad tissue damage to those places. In the beginning, the vet was worried those places may turn necrotic and we would face amputation. Thankfully, thanks to meds and our foster always rubbing good vitamins/oils on those spots it looks like our skin is going to be okay. I am unsure if my fur will grow back in those places yet though. Only time will tell.

Now you know my past. It is now time for you to decide if you want to be part of my future or not. I am not potty trained yet, so my new family needs to be ready to work with me on that. They also need to be home a lot so they can work with me on training and help get my energy out. I am looking for a forever family. I already had an until family and it ended horribly. I don't want to ever go through being abandoned again. I want someone who will keep me by their side until the very end. I not only want to be their best friend but also their family. I am currently residing in Sand Springs, OK. If you have fallen in love with me and are out of state, how about a road trip? I won't go on a long transport, so the only way I am relocating to another state...is if we are in that car together ?

Now I know that you may have fallen in love with me, but I am not quite ready to go home yet. I won't be ready to go home with you until around the end of August. I hope that you will still apply to adopt me though, that way after my final vetting with this rescue I will already have a family waiting! ?

My adoption fee is $300.
That will include two sets of puppy shots and wormings. I will also have had a bordetella. I will be micro-chipped, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.
